Activation
The carbonized product further undergoes an oxidation reaction, which is known as activation. The purpose of activation is to remove the tar substances and lysates accumulated in the pore structures during the carbonization process using steam or chemicals. This leads to an increase in pore volume (or surface area) and the high adsorption capacity of the finished charcoal product.

Carbonize
Carbonization takes place under hypoxic conditions at high temperatures (about 300-500 ℃), whereby the raw material is pyrolyzed and forms a porous carbon structure.During carbonization, the majority of non-carbon elements, such as oxygen and hydrogen, break out through the pyrolysis of the raw material in the form of volatile gases, forming irregular sheets of ring-shaped stacks.
